Salvaged wood columns, tin cans, granite cemetery lot markers, marble slabs
10' x 10' x 90'
Socrates Sculpture Park, Long Island City, NY, 1987-88 Laumeier Sculpture Park, St. Louis, MO, 1989-90

The form of this work came from my layman’s understanding of the Socratic method as a dialogue between dialectical opposites, which arrive at truth somewhere in the center. In keeping with the qualities of Socrates Sculpture Park, which was then in its early days, all materials are salvaged and/or scrap.
