Pine needles, resin glue

This temporary work was constructed by forming pine needles into blocks and returning them to the site where they were gathered. I was interested in bringing a geometry to the site using the predominant materials of that place with as little intervention as possible. My intention was that the work would gradually soften as the water-resistant, but not waterproof, glue deteriorated. To everyone’s surprise—and for reasons no one could understand—the grounds crew gathered up the blocks and stacked them neatly in a pile a few days after the work was complete. Lesson learned: document work in the public realm immediately.
